This is to provide guidance regarding the credit recognition for substitute courses of the major-required subjects “Business and Society” and “Social Value Creation Practicum”, which have been designated as required courses for Business Administration majors since the Class of 2015.
If you wish to apply for credit recognition using substitute courses when these courses are not offered, please carefully review the following notes in the case of re-taking.
1. Eligibility
Substitute course applications are permitted only for students in their final semester (expected to graduate after taking the substitute course) when the original course is not offered.
Applications must be submitted within the designated period.
(Application period: March 23 – April 17)
2. Eligible Substitute Courses
Korean students: One of the Major Elective (Required-Selective) courses.
International students: One of the Major Elective courses.
3. Only courses registered in the same semester can be recognized as re-take substitutes.
Courses previously taken cannot be used as substitutes.
Example:
If you plan to re-take “Business and Society” in the 2026-1 semester by substituting it with “Business Strategy,” you must have “Business Strategy” registered in your 2026-1 semester course list.
4. Substitute re-takes are included in the total number of allowed re-takes.
5. According to the re-take policy, the maximum attainable grade is A-.
6. Only students admitted between 2015 and 2018 are eligible for substitute course credit recognition.
7. Application Submission
Complete the attached application form and submit it to the Business Administration Office by email (busad@sogang.ac.kr)
The signature field must be signed by the applicant.
