Sogang University Graduate School of Business successfully held the “Entrance Ceremony and Orientation for the 7th Cohort of the AI MBA Program” on February 21 (Sat) at the Matteo Hall. Approximately 30 new students from a wide range of industries attended the event, sharing the joy of becoming part of the Sogang community and strengthening their commitment to the journey ahead.

The Tradition of ‘Sogang AI MBA’ Built by Alumni and Students Together


The event began with an orientation session at Room 812 of Matteo Hall at 10:00 AM, followed by the official entrance ceremony and luncheon at the reception hall at 11:00 AM. Notably, the inaugural leadership of the AI MBA Alumni Association—President Kim Byung-gi and Vice President Kwak Jeong-ae—attended the ceremony, adding significance to the occasion. Their congratulatory remarks marked the beginning of a strong alumni network for the new students.

A Gathering of Professionals Across Industries and Generations


At 2:00 PM, a “Q&A Session with Seniors,” organized by the 6th cohort student council, was held. Designed to promote meaningful interaction beyond simple information sharing, the session addressed questions submitted in advance by the new students. Topics included balancing work and study, effective academic strategies, and tips for campus life, with seniors sharing vivid, real-life experiences that were met with enthusiastic responses.

The 7th cohort consists of students ranging from their 30s to 50s, including professionals from across Korea’s major industries such as finance, IT, manufacturing, and services. As individuals from diverse backgrounds come together under the shared goal of enhancing AI capabilities, the program is expected to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and active business networking in the future.

One new student who attended the event commented, “Despite my busy professional schedule, I’ve always had a strong desire to learn. Seeing the warm advice from seniors and the passion of my peers makes me very excited about the journey ahead.”
