Chairman Park Jung-gil has led Bumjin Electronics since 1991, establishing the company as a technological leader in the audio equipment industry. In recognition of his contribution to supporting the stable mass production of Samsung TVs for 23 years, he received the “Proud Samsung Award” Special Prize in 2014. In February this year, he further strengthened his ties with Sogang University by pledging a donation of KRW 100 million to the Institute for Sustainable Management Innovation.

The Institute for Sustainable Management Innovation (hereafter, the Institute), which received the donation, was established by the Business School as a research hub aimed at generating and disseminating innovative management knowledge. As a platform-based institute primarily operated by graduates and current students of the Executive Ph.D. (E-Ph.D.) program, it is expected to serve as an “incubator” supporting doctoral-level professionals in conducting research on sustainable management.

CEO Ahn Jin stated, “We have received a thorough explanation of the purpose of this donation and the vision of the Institute, and Chairman Park deeply resonates with its mission. As Bumjin Electronics has maintained strong ties with academia through industry-academic cooperation and philanthropy, we hope this will serve as an opportunity for mutual growth with the Institute.”

Dean Kim Do-sung of the Business School remarked, “The E-Ph.D. program was a carefully designed initiative led by the former Vice President for Academic Affairs, and we are now witnessing its vision gradually becoming a reality, which reveals its great potential.” He added, “We sincerely appreciate Bumjin Electronics for providing this meaningful seed funding, and the Business School will actively support the growth of the Institute.”

President Shim Jong-hyuk also expressed his gratitude, stating, “The Institute for Sustainable Management Innovation and the E-Ph.D. program, which emphasize continuous learning and collaboration in a rapidly changing era, hold tremendous potential. The generous support from Bumjin Electronics will serve as a vital foundation for the Institute to make meaningful contributions to our society.”
