Matthew Hall
Matthew Hall is a future-oriented educational space that practices the values of academic excellence and ethical management based on the GLEE (Globalization, Leadership, Excellence, Ethics) vision. It aims to nurture next-generation business leaders with global sensibilities and communication skills, capable of rationally solving complex problems among diverse stakeholders. The building serves a central role in strengthening the academic foundation of business administration and propelling Sogang toward becoming a top-tier business school in Asia.
Completed in August 2001, Matthew Hall is a structure consisting of two basement levels and nine above-ground floors. It serves as the primary home for the Undergraduate Business School, the Graduate School, and the Graduate School of Business.
The hall is equipped with diverse facilities to support high-level education and research:
- Classrooms and Seminar Rooms: Integrated with the latest A/V systems tailored for advanced academic discussion.
- Digital Infrastructure: Includes video conferencing rooms and library facilities optimized for the information age.
- Global Hub: Features a large-scale Reception Hall (9F) capable of hosting international conferences and prestigious academic events, serving as a focal point for global network expansion.
The name "Matthew Hall" commemorates Saint Matthew, the author of the Gospel of Matthew and the patron saint of bankers and bookkeepers. This choice reflects the educational philosophy of Sogang Business School (SBS), which seeks a profound harmony between management and ethics, and academic theory and practical application. Under these guiding values, Matthew Hall has established itself as a symbolic landmark where the business leaders of tomorrow are shaped.
