Sogang University Graduate School of Business provides educational programs optimized for fostering global talent required by the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, keeping pace with rapidly changing business environments. The daytime MBA program, S-MBA (Sogang-MBA), is the representative flagship MBA program of Sogang University Graduate School of Business, aiming to cultivate managers with professional expertise, or "Specialized Generalists". More specifically, to contribute to the continuous growth of the global economy, the S-MBA program offers three majors—Finance, Venture, and Digital Innovation—to foster future-oriented talent who possess both professional capabilities in high-demand fields and leadership qualities with organizational insight.
The greatest advantage of the S-MBA program is that it is a highly intensive and efficient program structured into a 1-year, 3-semester curriculum. Additionally, S-MBA students can freely select and take courses from all MBA programs within the Sogang University Graduate School of Business, allowing them to self-design an optimized curriculum tailored to their individual interests and needs.
Mandatory courses in the S-MBA program are conducted as English-taught classes. Through opportunities to study and discuss alongside exchange students from leading universities around the world in these English-taught classes, students will develop global networks and a global management perspective.
In addition to the three majors, the S-MBA program operates dual degree programs. Through partnerships with world-class business schools such as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Southern California, and Fordham University in the U.S., and City, University of London in the U.K., we offer opportunities to simultaneously obtain both a Sogang MBA degree and a degree conferred by a partner school in a short period.
Sogang University Graduate School of Business expects S-MBA students to grow into future managers of domestic and international global corporations as prepared global talent. To this end, the S-MBA program will strive to provide an optimized curriculum centered on theory and practice, delivered by the highest-level faculty in Korea.

ALUMNI INTERVIEW
I entered the S-MBA course through an industry-academic track after working at the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund for 12 years. While performing duties such as corporate guarantee review, accounting, and startup investment, I felt the need for specialized knowledge in Finance at financial sites and professional, intensive education on digital finance required for startup investment reviews; thus, I entered the S-MBA course after obtaining a good opportunity from my company. There were some concerns about the academic curriculum, which is considered the tradition of Sogang University, but under the passionate and affectionate guidance of all professors, I am spending time discussing practical knowledge applicable to the field or learned in the field by applying it to various cases and theories through opportunities to explore three majors: finance, venture, and digital innovation. Through systematic analysis and understanding of practical management phenomena while taking classes, I have become able to look at the world with a broad perspective, and it is a place that makes me dream of my own changes through a valuable year of time where I can organize solutions. The full-time S-MBA course helped me build human networks with various peers and expanded the boundaries of my knowledge through in-depth study in various fields. I am proud that the year spent in the S-MBA course is a valuable time I will never forget in my life.
Ki-dong Jung (26th Class)
I entered the S-MBA as an industry-academic track course while working at Industrial Bank of Korea. Despite the relatively short period of 10 months, through a substantial curriculum, I built basic knowledge of management in Core Mandatory courses and was able to study deeply in relevant fields through major courses in finance, venture, and digital. In addition to major subjects in business administration, the program supports special lectures featuring CEOs from various fields and taking classes at other graduate schools, such as the Graduate School of Economics, so it was a short but impactful process to broaden my view of the world.
Sun-young Jung (27th Class)
I majored in Finance & Accounting in Japan, but business administration was only a half-baked theoretical study to me. I wanted to narrow the gap between theory and practice, and at the same time, I had a thirst for being a Generalist encompassing overall business administration rather than a Specialist in finance and accounting. Meanwhile, I came across the S-MBA course at Sogang University and was attracted to apply by the solid curriculum structure, tight-knit MBA community, English-taught major classes, and the dual major and dual degree systems. Over the past year, by experiencing many case studies, reading business papers, and participating in various projects, I have expanded the base of my understanding of finance and ventures, and my perspective on the world has also broadened while interacting with fellow students who have various backgrounds and experiences. Through the S-MBA course, I was able to broaden my understanding of the financial industry through the fusion of theory and practice, and I developed a dream of wanting to work in IB in the future. Although I arrived at the destination of the journey very busy and tired, every step became nourishment for me and served as an opportunity to have greater confidence in my future. I hope that junior fellow students also grow further by using the high-quality education and various opportunities as a stepping stone to unfold bigger and cooler management dreams.
Heo Dan (28th Class)
If you are preparing to start a business or standing on the path of re-starting, Sogang University's S-MBA course can be the best investment for you. Having worked as a planner and project manager in the game industry for five years and having experience starting and operating a game startup, I discovered greater possibilities in this course. The biggest advantage of the S-MBA course is that you can design a personalized learning curriculum tailored to your own career and goals. Through this course, I was able to acquire essential competencies and management knowledge in various fields, such as the game industry. Since the game industry is a field that is rapidly merging with innovative technologies such as VR, AR, blockchain, metaverse, and AI, understanding the latest technology is essential. Therefore, I actively participated in classes of other courses, such as AI MBA, and focused on my studies while spending six days a week at school. Through this process, I was able to acquire extensive knowledge necessary for establishing business strategies as well as game development. Additionally, the community of Sogang Graduate School of Business consists of passionate people aiming for sustainable growth. Not only close interaction with professors but also networking with fellow peers creates valuable connections that can last a lifetime. If you want true change and dream of a meaningful leap in your career, the S-MBA course will open that path.
Yeon-jun Park (28th Class)
After graduating from undergraduate, I entered the Sogang University S-MBA course with a desire to study a bit more. The advantage of Sogang University S-MBA, in my opinion, is that the course is very impactful and efficient. Even in a short period of one year, it covers three majors—finance, venture, and digital—densely, and it is especially beneficial that cross-taking classes from Pro-MBA and AI-MBA is possible depending on interests. Even though I already majored in Management Information Systems as an undergraduate, it was an opportunity to deepen the depth of my learning academically and practically. As the course is short, it may be somewhat tiring, but I think it will be a lot of help for future practice and my career. Learning was the foundation, and it was a precious time to find an advanced version of myself while communicating with fellow students with experience in various fields. If you are looking for a true Graduate School of Business S-MBA amidst a differentiated curriculum and an immersive course progression, knock on this door.
Tae-ho Hong (29th Class)
I experienced burnout while fiercely establishing business strategies at financial institutions and Big 4 consulting for more than ten years, and after unexpectedly entering the Graduate School of Business at the recommendation of an acquaintance, I am devoting myself to heated discussions and information exchange with advisor professors and fellow students. I have set Business Analytics and investment strategy fields as my future career goals and am gaining potential capabilities and insights every day. Sogang MBA goes beyond simple theoretical education and provides a practice-oriented curriculum, making it possible to immediately apply what was learned to actual work. Lectures with industry-leading faculty provide practical business insights, through which strategic thinking can be further strengthened. Mandatory subjects conducted in English allow you to experience global standards befitting an AACSB-accredited MBA school. In addition to the daytime course, I am taking AI MBA and Pro MBA subjects, studying six days a week on my own and using it as a stepping stone for self-growth by interacting with various peers. Additionally, under the active support of the chairperson, I was able to realize seminar exchange opportunities at prestigious Japanese universities, broadening my global perspective and seeking new collaboration opportunities. Those considering entering an MBA probably have various concerns: limits in professional capabilities at work, difficulties in human relationships, etc. I also had a desire to leap over such realities, and Sogang S-MBA is providing opportunities for challenge and growth. I recommend you start at Sogang Daytime MBA, which provides a curriculum that allows each person to become the talent they dream of by dedicating themselves to studies for one year.
Seung-hyun Cho (30th Class)
The one year at Sogang MBA was an important turning point in my career and a time to broaden my perspective as a person. While gaining practical experience, I felt the need for the ability to read the meaning beyond numbers, and the MBA course became a foundation for this. Through classes, I was able to develop a perspective to look at management strategies and the market more three-dimensionally, beyond financial thinking, and actual case-centered learning allowed me to improve the way of thinking necessary in the field. What was most meaningful was meeting peers with various backgrounds. In the process of sharing different experiences and perspectives, I was able to face new and diverse views on the world outside of familiar perspectives and develop a broader view. I believe that if you sincerely engage in learning and experience at Sogang MBA, it will be a time where you can grow in many ways.
Ji-soo Yoo (31st Class)
I have been operating a business by diving into entrepreneurship since my early 20s, but there was always a concern in one corner of my heart: "Is my management making decisions only based on intuition?". I felt that the basic system of strategic management was lacking and I wanted to overcome these limits, so I entered Sogang University S-MBA. The time at S-MBA became an opportunity to change my management method itself. Through core subjects such as management strategy, I became able to logically explain "why I must make this choice," and startup-related classes such as startup theory, venture capital, and global growth strategy provided insights that could be applied directly to my actual business. Especially, the process of solving problems together with colleagues from various industries through case discussions and team projects opened new perspectives that were hard to obtain while operating a business alone. As decision-making that relied on intuition changed to judgment based on data and strategy, I could feel that I was growing from an "operator" to a "manager". To me, S-MBA was not just a degree course but a turning point that allowed me to re-design the direction of my career. I am confident that the learning and network here will be a solid asset for my management life in the future.
Jin-seop Shin (31st Class)
