Credit Exchange Guide
Graduate students in the Department of Business Administration at Sogang University may take courses at other departments within the university or at partner graduate schools with credit exchange agreements. These credits can be recognized toward the graduation requirements of their current degree program within specified limits. Please review the following information regarding partner institutions, credit recognition standards, eligible courses, and registration procedures.
Partner Graduate Schools for Credit Exchange
The following institutions have established credit exchange agreements with Sogang University: Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, Catholic University of Korea, Korea National University of Education, Chung-Ang University, Soongsil University, Dankook University, University of Seoul, Korea National Defense University, UST (Korea University of Science and Technology), Graduate School of Korean Studies (Academy of Korean Studies), KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology), GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), and Korea University.
Credit Recognition Standards
- Credits earned through exchange at other graduate schools must not exceed 6 credits per semester.
- A maximum of 6 credits per semester and a cumulative total of 12 credits throughout the entire degree program may be recognized toward graduation requirements from other departments or external graduate schools.
- As additional restrictions may apply depending on the concentration, students must verify the specific regulations in the Graduate Handbook and internal bylaws.
Course Eligibility
1. Eligible Courses
- Courses offered by Professional Graduate Schools at Sogang University or partner graduate schools at other universities.
2. Ineligible Courses
- Courses offered by Special Graduate Schools at Sogang University (Graduate School of Public Policy, Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Economics, Graduate School of Media and Communication, and Graduate School of AI·SW) are not eligible for credit exchange.
Course Registration Procedure
- Specific registration procedures for each partner institution are announced every semester via the Credit Exchange Notice on the official website.
- As registration schedules and methods vary by institution, students must check the notice for the relevant semester before applying.
- It is highly recommended to consult with your academic advisor before registration to ensure that the exchange courses align with your major and research plan.
